XVII. KODHA VAGGA ~ Kanepson
1. kodhaṃ jahe vippajaheyya mānaṃ, saṃyojanaṃ sabbamatikkameyya.
taṃ nāmarūpasmimasajjamānaṃ, akiñcanaṃ nānupatanti dukkhā.
Becike enggala nyandhet hardaning kanepson lan piangkuh, becike enggala nguwali pamikuting kanepson. Wong kang wis ora kabanda dening batin lan jasmani, kang wis kalis saka napsu-napsu, wong iku ora bakal nemahi panandhang.

2. yo ve uppatitaṃ kodhaṃ, rathaṃ bhantaṃva vāraye.
tamahaṃ sārathiṃ brūmi, rasmiggāho itaro jano.
Sing sapa bisa ngendhaleni hardaning kanepson kaya ngendhalaeni playune kreta, dheweke mungguh banget lamun sinebut kusir kang pinunjul, dene kusir liyane mung waton gondhelan apusing kendhali.

3. akkodhena jine kodhaṃ, asādhuṃ sādhunā jine.
jine kadariyaṃ dānena, saccenālikavādinaṃ.
Asorna kanepsonmu kanthi tanpa kanepson lan asorna budi candhala kanthi kabecikan. Asorna watak cethil kanthi watak loma. Asorna si tukang apus krama kanthi watak temen.

4. saccaṃ bhaṇe na kujjheyya, dajjā appampi yācito.
etehi tīhi ṭhānehi, gacche devāna santike.
Sayogyane padha temen ing wicara, sayogyane padha nyandhet kanepson, sayogyane padha dedana marang kang mbutuhake, sanajan mung sethithik. Kanthi tindak telung warna iki sira bakal bisa marak ing ngarsane para dewa.

5. ahiṃsakā ye munayo, niccaṃ kāyena saṃvutā.
te yanti accutaṃ ṭhānaṃ, yattha gantvā na socare.
Para Suci kang ora nyikara marang sesamaning dumadi lan tansah bisa meper dhiri pribadi, bakal tumeka ing kahanan kang kalis saka pepati (Nibbana); kanthi mangkono, Panjenengane (para Suci) bakal kalis saka kesedhihan.

6. sadā jāgaramānānaṃ, ahorattānusikkhinaṃ.
nibbānaṃ adhimuttānaṃ, atthaṃ gacchanti āsavā.
Kang tansah padha eling, rina lan wengi tansah nggladhi dhiri, lan batine tumuju marang Nibbana, ing kono reregeding batine tumuli bakal sirna.

7. porāṇametaṃ atula, netaṃ ajjatanāmiva.
nindanti tuṇhimāsīnaṃ, nindanti bahubhāṇinaṃ.
mitabhāṇimpi nindanti, natthi loke anindito.
"O, Atula, bab iku wis ana wiwit biyen mula, lan ora mung saiki wae; yaiku panyacad marang wong kang anteng-meneng, panyacad marang wong kang akeh wicara,uga panyacad marang kang sethithik wicarane. Cekake, ora ana siji wae wong kang luput saka panyacad".

8. na cāhu na ca bhavissati, na cetarahi vijjati.
ekantaṃ nindito poso, ekantaṃ vā pasaṃsito.
Ora bakal tinemu; biyen, mbesuk, utawa saiki, wong kang mung tansah dicacad utawa tansah dialembana.

9-10. yaṃ ce viññū pasaṃsanti, anuvicca suve suve.
acchiddavuttiṃ medhāviṃ, paññāsīlasamāhitaṃ.

nikkhaṃ jambonadasseva, ko taṃ ninditumarahati.
devāpi naṃ pasaṃsanti, brahmunāpi pasaṃsito.
Sawise migatekake kanthi trawaca, wong wicaksana memuji marang kang nglakoni urip tanpa cacad, wasis sarta ndarbeni kasusilan lan Kawicaksanan Sampurna.
Sapata kang bisa nyacad marang kang pindha lantakan emas murni, kang para dewa tansah mangayubagya, mangkono uga para Brahma?

11. kāyappakopaṃ rakkheyya, kāyena saṃvuto siyā.
kāyaduccaritaṃ hitvā, kāyena sucaritaṃ care.
Manungsa mono sayogyane tansah njaga lan ngendhaleni krodhaning badan wadhag, Sawise bisa mekak tindhak nistha kang lantaran badan wadhag, becik tumuli sengkud nindakake kebecikan kang lelantaran badan wadhag.

12. vacīpakopaṃ rakkheyya, vācāya saṃvuto siyā.
vacīduccaritaṃ hitvā, vācāya sucaritaṃ care.
Manungsa mono sayogyane tansah njaga lan ngendhaleni ubaling wicara. Sawise bisa mekak tindak nistha kang lelantaran wicara, becik tumuli sengkud nindakake kebecikan kang lelantaran wicara.

13. manopakopaṃ rakkheyya, manasā saṃvuto siyā.
manoduccaritaṃ hitvā, manasā sucaritaṃ care.
Manungsa mono sayogyane tansah njaga lan ngendhaleni pikirane. Sawise bisa mekak tindak nistha kang lelantaran pikiran, becik tumuli sengkud nindakake kabecikan kang lelantaran pikiran.

14. kāyena saṃvutā dhīrā, atho vācāya saṃvutā.
manasā saṃvutā dhīrā, te ve suparisaṃvutā.
Para wicaksana kinendhalen tumindake, lan kinendhalen pangucape. Mengkono uga kinendhalen pikirane. Satuhune, para wicaksana mau dhiri pribadine wis bisa kinendhalen kanthi becik.
